Faith

“Faith” is a NetArt series project based on a photo-mosaic computer program able to construct composite images from a Google search. The program is connected to the Internet in order to locate hundreds of images on the basis of a word search criteria.
The final composites represent Christ, Virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit composed by thousands of images available on the Internet and located by searching the following words respectively: mortal accidents, women-babies disappeared and abused, abortions-new born babies abandoned from nuns and priests.
The creative weight of my work derives from the metaphorical and linguistic relationship established between the content of the primary image, being re-fashioned, and the Google search terms that have been used. It is important the potential for using the never-ending flow
of information on the Web, mainly as a tribute to honor the memory of the victims with a critical spirit.
